That's that done with then?
What........ That tricky first Saturday after Hampton's season ends, what do we do? For me it seemed like the "proper" end of the season, football league playoffs underway and no Swansea :(
Nothing but tedium in the premiership
No rugby league, due to quins being rubbish and no longer in the challenge cup, and don't even mention the crusaders.
So what did I do? And will it make an interesting Blog update?
Well, took the daughter to Ballet on sat. Morning and had mad nanna round for a roast on Sunday, is the answer to the first question, and the answer to the second should be pretty self explanatory.
SO....
In the words of Craig David I guess I should re-ee-wind to what should have been my first post! The obligatory Introduction,
Hello, I'm Matt 30 years young, born in Swansea, currently residing in sunny Rhyl. I'm married with a 2yo girl, and am "gainfully employed" by Jaguar Land Rover as an engineer, based in Liverpool.
My involvement with Hampton goes back about 13 years. My parents (Sue & Steve) ran the Railway Inn, by the station and Dad took me and a young Chris, aka Romeo to watch a few games, (my first game escapes me but Eastbourne springs to mind!
A few short months later the Railway Inn was replaced by the bar at the Bev (before Hammonds) and the rest is History, as soon as I was old enough I was behind the bar, and before that I was in the kitchen. As far as I know, I killed no one with my burgers or sausages.
Other jobs at the Bev have included, cleaning Kit, cleaning dressing rooms, odds and sods about the pitch. I guess you could say I am fully time served.
1998 saw me bugger off to Uni back to Swansea, and from then on my love for Hampton has been long distance, with occasional visits to the big smoke.
As for my highlights, there are all the normal ones, playoffs, Barnet in the FA cup, and the two games before that including the away (home for me) match in the valleys.
Slightly more random, the reserves winning some cup! With a team including Bobby Watson and Scott Tar. The weekend in Clacton with the old ladies team. And anywhere that involved drinking.
Ah memories…..
Wonder what next weekend will bring!
